A generous response to the appeal, with $2,620.60 contributed by parishioners. The money will be sent to Queensland and used by St Vincent De Paul to assist the victims of the floods and the cyclone. Many thanks to the members of the parish for their kindness.
Families are invited to enrol for the catechist program that commences in first term on Tuesday 1 March 2011. The program provides general religious instruction and prepares children for the sacraments of reconciliation, first communion and confirmation. Classes will be held at St Bridget’s on Tuesday afternoons between 4.00pm – 4.45pm.

Time: 4.00pm – 4.30pm
Venue: St Bridget’s Church, 48 Sweyn Street, North Balwyn
Children will commence preparation for reconciliation and first communion from the first lesson in term one.

This year, 2011, sees the 50th anniversary of the foundation of St Bridget’s Parish on 4th February 1961. Our first jubilee event for the year will be the Jubilee Mass at 10.00am on Sunday, 6th February 2011, followed by a Teddy Bears’ Picnic in the grounds at the back of the church. Please join us to celebrate 50 years of faith and community in Greythorn.
